It looks like winter has finally arrived in southern Ohio: snow, wind, low temperatures. I spent yesterday in Columbus Christmas shopping with my wife and then went back out again today. The closer it gets to the 25th, the more worried I become that I haven’t bought enough junk, which, I know, is frigging crazy, but I always play right into the retailers’ hands.
On a happier note, my friend, Kyle Minor, has had a collection of stories and novellas accepted by Dzanc (this deal came about a couple of weeks ago). In the Devil’s Territory will be published in the fall of 2008. What a great title! And I guarantee that the book will be just as good. Kyle is the hardest working writer that I know.
I’m currently reading Edmund White’s new novel, Hotel De Dream, about the last days of Stephen Crane and his efforts to write a novel on his death bed about a syphilitic boy prostitute (NOTE: I’ve only about thirty pages into this, but White does some great things with POV).
Happy Holidays!

Received my two copies today. Congratulations my friend.
I’ll get you to sign them for me when I see you.
